Law & Order: Special Victims Unit recently aired “Street Revenge”– an episode revolving around “Real-Life” Superheroes. With the comic book angle in plain view, Ian asked me to take a look at it. As IMJ’s resident TV Pundit, how could I refuse? Plus I was interested in seeing what the mainstream media thought of us Geeks nowadays.
It had been a while since I watched SVU… Mainly because it started to feel like somebody was beating a dead horse every week. After all, how many permutations of the various perversions can you portray on prime time television before someone finally screams, “Gee, Aren’t you guys done yet!?” Now that I think about it, I wouldn’t be surprised if SVU eventually got around to airing an episode where someone actually enjoyed beating a dead horse– as long as bestiality was involved.
